Rev. Sangduk Yang

Welcome to the Won Buddhism San Francisco Temple.

Rev. Sangduk Yang was ordained in 1984 and served in Korea for 13 years before being assigned to the San Francisco Temple in 1998. Since then, he has dedicated himself to serving various temples across both the East and West coasts of the United States.

From [Year] to [Year], he served as the head of the Eastern District, representing and supporting temples throughout the region. He has also created illustrated books that explain Won Buddhist teachings in a clear and accessible way.

In addition, he is a skilled craftsman who has beautifully designed and built altars for many temples.
Currently, he serves as a spiritual mentor to both ordained and lay practitioners at the San Francisco Temple, leading Dharma services and enjoying working meditation—especially through caring for the temple garden.
